Tree removal services are requested for a variety of reasons, whether the structure has outgrown its location or the tree is posing a danger to others. However, if there’s extreme decay or the tree has died, it’s vital the trees are assessed as soon as possible to ensure the safety of the surrounding area.

For this next project, we were contacted about some decaying trees in need of special attention.

The Project: Removal of Elm, Beech & Sycamore Trees

In January 2022, we were called out to assess some trees that may need removing from some land near a property in Reigate. At the site, we found some badly decayed beech and sycamore trees that would need felling, as well as one dead elm tree requiring removal.

There were several challenges facing us with this project. One was the safety of the trees in question, as they posed a risk due to being extremely decayed, so this job required urgent attention. Another obstacle was that time was of the essence, as the property was used for swimming tuition every 30 minutes.

Therefore, we needed to act swiftly without compromising the safety around the tree removal area.

The Results

As you can see from the images, our team worked hard to achieve a highly successful outcome.

As safety was a priority due to the extreme tree decay, we organised to remove the trees with a 19 metre MEWP (mobile elevated work platform). This allowed us to reach the heights required using the fastest, safest techniques to cut away pieces of the trees in stages and lower them to the ground.

All the trees were successfully felled as close to ground level as possible, leaving minimal stumps. While there were time pressures involved, our team worked hard to get the job completed as soon as possible, doing so safely and successfully. We ensured the area was left clear and tidy, taking away debris and branches to leave just the stumps in the ground.

Another happy customer!
