Back in January, The Princess Alice Hospice contacted us to see if we’d like to volunteer in chipping over 2000 Christmas trees that had already been collected by another group of volunteers. Our experienced tree surgeons were delighted to help and support the local community with their needs.
Recycling Christmas trees is one of the most eco-friendly ways to dispose of them after use. By putting festive trees through a shredding machine will turn them into woodchip. Recycling centres will usually take this type of green waste, but you can also stack the chips to rot down into mulch. The Results

The greatest challenge was chipping 2000 trees in a single day – which was no mean feat for our skilled arborists! As you can see from the photographs, our team was systematic in their approach, using our large chippers and vehicles for the process. While it was challenging time-wise, we loved making a difference for such a worthy cause while supporting the local community.
